PayPal adds Samsung fingerprint support for Android app

PayPal is finally bringing fingerprint support for paying for goods to its Google Play Store app. This was previously available on Samsung Apps store. Now, users of the Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Alpha, and Galaxy Tab S can pay for online purchases by just swiping on the fingerprint scanner on their devices.

TELUS brings Samsung Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE to subscribers

If you have been waiting for the metal-clad Samsung Galaxy Alpha or the LTE version of the Galaxy Tab S 8.4, today’s your lucky day. TELUS will be bring both premium devices to its subscribers.

The Galaxy Alpha will be available on a two-year term starting at $180 or $700 outright. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE can be availed under the Easy Tablet program, which lets customers buy the tablet for a lower cost upfront. The remaining balance can be paid through equal monthly payments over a one- or two-year term without interest. You can get the Tab S, for example, for $100 upfront plus $20 per month over two years or outright for $580.

Charge your smartwatch with your smartphone using Samsung Power Sharing Cable

You can have all the mobile battery packs with you but sometimes that isn’t enough to get you through a day. It lets you transfer power from select Samsung devices to any micro-USB toting gadget. The Power Sharing cable only supports the latest devices, such as Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Avant, and Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and 10.5. You will also need to get the Power Sharing app to allow your Samsung smartphone or tablet to charge another device. It retails for US$19.99 and is available on the company’s online store.

Samsung finally debuts metal-clad Galaxy Alpha

Samsung is stepping away from its plastic-clad devices to debut the new metal-framed Galaxy Alpha. It features a more squared-off look and is made with premium materials. This new device has a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display and runs on an octa-core Exynos CPU (quad 1.8GHz and quad 1.3GHz), 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (no external storage though), Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and a 12-megapixel rear camera as well as a 2.1MP front-facing shooter. It also has the latest TouchWiz UI and Samsung apps and features available on the Galaxy S5. This handset is said to be available starting September and will come in black, white, blue, silver, and gold.
