Samsung unveils the eco-friendly 2024 The Frame TV

Photo: Samsung

Samsung's popular Frame TV received a refresh for 2024, with a key focus on environmental friendliness. It retains the mini-LED panel, Quantum Processor 4K for upscaling, and attractive picture frame bezels beloved by art enthusiasts. However, this year's model boasts an innovative new feature. The Frame now automatically switches between a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth TV viewing and a more efficient 60Hz for Art Mode. This eco-conscious update reduces energy consumption without sacrificing image quality when displaying your favorite masterpieces.

Under the hood, the 2024 Frame TV remains a powerhouse. Gamers will appreciate the Auto Game Mode. Meanwhile, movie lovers and art aficionados will enjoy the rich visuals and built-in 40-watt 2.0.2 channel sound system, further enhanced by Samsung's Q Symphony technology for compatible soundbars. Samsung's The Frame TV has a starting price of $1,399.99 for the 43-inch model.

Samsung partners with the Louvre to bring its art to The Frame TVs

You might not be able to make it to the Louvre right now, but Samsung is bringing some of its beloved artwork to you. The company partnered with the Louvre gallery to bring 40 works, including the Mona Lisa and The Wedding at Cana, to its Art Store catalogue. This collection also includes photos of the Louvre's galleries, museum grounds, and architecture. You can expect more artwork from the museum over the coming year.

The announcement coincides with the introduction of more sizes. The Frame series TVs now range from 32 inches to 85 inches. The new 85-inch size will be a great canvas to display over 1,500 works of art on its Art Store.

Samsung Frame TV can now rotate between portrait and landscape modes

Source: Samsung

This isn't the first time Samsung has introduced its picture frame-like The Frame televisions, nor is it the first time for the company to offer a rotating television. Remember its Sero TV back in 2019 (a.k.a. a different lifetime ago)? Samsung is combining that tech for its new variant of The Frame. This option will only be available in the new 43-inch model, where you can choose to rotate it in landscape or portrait mode. Those who want to turn their TV into a high-tech frame for their portrait artwork might appreciate this television.

Other improvements for the new Frame TV models include a thinner product, at just 24.9 millimetres thick. It also promises better AI art recommendations through Samsung's Art Store and more bezel options to suit discerning tastes. It will also support features like Google Duo and Screen Mirroring, Remote Access Plus, and Multi-View. We don't have the updated pricing or availability yet, but that should come in the spring.
