Sony unveils Android-friendly SmartWatch

Sony has just revealed the SmartWatch. This is a $150 watch that integrates with Android smartphones to show text messages, app updates and e-mail, manage calls, and control music and video. It also allows users to snap photos from their Android smarphones remotely. The dust and splashproof watch can run four days on a charge and connects to most Android smartphones via Bluetooth. Good news for hackers, Sony expects SmartWatch specific apps to be made available to the Google Play store.

CES 2012: Sony's Keynote covers CE landscape with product announcements

Sony is one of the giants of consumer electronics and it has numerous products across different markets. That is why their keynote at CES 2012 was met with great expectation and excitement and for the most part, Sir Howard Stringer and his crew, including an out of place Will Smith (better than Ed Begley's super awkward appearance in Panasonic's keynote) made an impact with the hard to please crowd.

Canon to make a Historic Global Announcement on Nov 3rd

Canon may finally be getting into the compact Interchangeable Lens Camera market in 2012. The leader in DSLR and point-and-shoot segement, Canon is the remaining holdout in this popular new area of photography. Perennial Archrival Nikon has already played its hand with the Nikon N1 which will be available soon. Canon still has to consider Sony, Olympus, Pentax, Panasonic and Fujifilm which all have appealing small models with alre sensors and a variety of lenses.
