Sony previews PlayStation 4, new controller, some games but no box - coming in time for Holiday 2013

So Sony revealed more details of their PlayStation 4 console including the new DualShock 4 controller with a touchpad and various game demos. Sony didn't show what the console will look like or even drill down on the specific specs and features but did note that the next PlayStation would be more social, would have much faster game loading and resume times and would not be backwards compatible with PlayStation 3 titles (although it was hinted these games can be accessed and played via their cloud component. CES 2013: Sony's 5 new CyberShot models focus on 'shoot and share.'

Sony Canada’s newest Cyber-shot compact cameras deliver a range of powerful, high-end capabilities at attractive prices. Five new models – WX80, W730, W710, TF1 and H200 cameras – share a variety of new features for the Cyber-shot line including a new Advanced Flash which boosts the cameras sensitivity and extends the effective range of the flash.  This is especially useful in low-light situations like party shots, indoors or dusk where built-in flashes have historically struggled to reach far-away subjects and capture all important details of a scene. Video: Sony's Internet Player with Google TV demoed, available in August

Earlier today, Sony launched the first Canadian GoogleTV with their new Internet Player. Some of the cooler features include a new remote control with a trackpad and a touch keyboard. The Internet Player, which will sell for $200 and is available for pre-orders, will start shipping in mid-August. Aside from featuring Google Apps and various types of streaming content, it will also have access to the Chrome browser as well as some Google games.

Panasonic to take record $10 billion annual loss

Bad news for Panasonic as reports from Reuters and PCWorld state that Panasonic has fallen victim to the flagging TV business which has also put rivals Sony and Sharp in the red.  Panasonic expects to suffer a 10 billion annual loss, the report states.
