Lego is finally giving Luigi some love with Luigi's Mansion expansion sets. It's part of the toymaker's Super Mario World collection. You can get three different sets: the Lab and Poltergust set (US$30), Entryway (US$40), and Haunt-and-Seek (US$80).
Lego and Nintendo are giving their fans a way to celebrate Super Mario 64 with this new block set featuring microscale levels, including Peach's Castle and several microfigures. The 2,064-piece set includes Bomb-omb Battlefield, Cool, Cool Mountain, and Lethal Lava Trouble. You'll see these levels when you unfold the brick-built question mark block.
You get microfigures of Mario and Princess Peach or add full-sized Mario or Lego Luigi features for interactive play. It even comes with "unique music and sounds from the video game." On top of that, you can seek out "hidden Power Stars that reveal secret reactions from the figures."
The Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block set is coming exclusively to Lego stores and Lego.com on October 1 for $200.
Nintendo is partnering with luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer to release a Super Mario-themed watch. According to a tweet from TAG Heuer, you can "Power-up on July 13." But on the priority access registration page to learn more about this watch, there's a countdown timer for July 15 at 10 am ET.
We don't know what the watch will be but expect it to be a premium accessory. TAG Heuer has done smartwatches in the past, so perhaps they might infuse some tech into it. We're keeping our eye out for the launch next week.
Nintendo has a new limited-edition version of its Switch console inspired by the beloved Nintendo game, Super Marion. The gaming console comes out simultaneously with the release of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. It retails for US$300 (around CA$382) and comes in classic Mario colours.
This Switch Mario Red & Blue Edition includes an all-red console with a red dock stand, red Joy-Cons, blue Joy-Con grip, and red casing around the screen. It also comes with a screen protector and special carrying case featuring different symbols associated with the franchise. According to The Verge, this version is the updated console with two additional hours of battery life. However, it doesn't ship with the new game.
