Norton Mobile Utilities Lite for Android adds up to 5 hours of battery life

To help combat slow performance and battery consumption, Norton released its latest version of Norton Mobile Utilities, a tool that optimizes your battery life and keeps devices running at top speed.

The tool shows you what applications your phone is running and allows you to close out apps to manage your battery drain. According to testing, using Norton Mobile Utilities resulted in a phone battery savings of more than five hours which is a big deal on Android powered devices.

Consumers can download the free app from the Google Play and a full-featured version is also available for $9.99.

Symantec uniting VeriSign and Norton brands for improved website protection

San Francisco, CA- Next@Norton is an annual meeting and product showcase that covers the latest security threats and trends, Symantec's new products and directions as well as gives tech journalists a chance to have first-hand access to developers, engineers and product specialists. This year's event was held in the W Hotel in Downtown San Francisco. An extensive day-long meeting composed of presentations and Q&A sessions revealed a number of interesting trends in today's security landscape, here's some of what we learned.
