Review: Moto X (2014)

I have no doubt that this year’s Moto X can tussle with any of the leading smartphones we have today and match or even surpass them in the common functions, running apps, surfing the web, multitasking, and even starting the camera and taking burst-mode photos, which are all a huge improvement over last year’s model.

Last year’s most surprising smartphone was the Google-owned Motorola Moto X. A mid-range smartphone in terms of specs, it innovated various areas and became a favourite of many reviewers as well as loyal fans who preferred it to the Nexus 5 as the closest thing to a Pure Android device.

Great design, touchless control, gesture-enabled camera and for lucky US-based users, a fully customizable palette of colours, textures, capacities and even startup screens. The Moto X was the blueprint that was used to create the Moto G (Moto’s white knight) and the Moto E; the original Moto X remains one of 2013’s best non-superphone devices. TELUS opens up iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pre-order page

The new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will come to Canada on Septemeber 19 with pre-orders starting on September 12. TELUS is the first Canadian carrier to confirm that they will be having the new devices.

Telus customers can now register at www.telus.com/preregister to be the first to be notified when the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are available for pre-order at TELUS.

Top 10 Back-To-School Online Safety Tips

Parents are in back-to-school mode now with last minute shopping for books, pencils, shoes and even mobile devices and laptops. But while we're making all those decisions it's also a good time to sit down with our kids to review online etiquette and safety tips. Yes, teens will roll their eyes and give you that "ya, I know" look but it's ultimately our responsibility, as parents, to nag the heck out of them (kidding! sort of) and to reinforce, what they may, or may not, know.
