TIFF 2022: Films that have caught our attention at first glance

The Toronto International Film Festival returns with another incredible slate of titles worthy adding to our list of what to see. From September 8 to 18, the movie lovers will enjoy a wide selection of films across many genres and from many parts of the world. Yes, there are the heavy-hitters with Hollywood stars in leading roles but there's more beyond the obvious if you look a little closer. Either way, we're excited to return to the theatres and take in all the excitement. Here are a few that have already caught our attention...

TIFF partners with Bell Media for 'Parasite' and 'Paris is Burning' cinema nights

The Toronto International Film Festival continues its partnership with Bell Media to host "Stay-at-Home Cinema" nights with two new entries. The record-breaking Korean film Parasite will be streaming on Tuesday, June 2, with a live stream that kicks off at 7 pm ET. The movie starts at 7:30 pm ET. The live stream will have Cameron Bailey, artistic director and co-head of TIFF, along with filmmaker Sharon Choi, who served as Parasite director Bong Joon Ho's interpreter, and Tom Quinn, co-founder of Parasite's North American distributor, Neon.

On Friday, June 5, the 1990 documentary Paris is Burning will be streaming at the same time in celebration of Pride Month 2020. It will also have a featured guest, but it hasn't been confirmed who the guest will be. If you want to participate in these experiences, you will need to have a Crave subscription with a starting price of $9.99 a month.

You can now drive the 'Back To The Future' DeLorean with Turo

The Back to the Future DeLorean was probably the first time I noticed a cool car as a kid. The “time machine” was something of a wonder filled with dreams and possibilities. Everyone talked about how it would be so wild to be able to actually see this car in real life. At this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) the dream came true. Parked outside the Thompson Hotel was the beautifully crafted machine and not just for show, it’s driveable. And regular folks like us can book it for a drive here in Toronto through TUROa car sharing company.

Netflix secures global rights to Justin Timberlake concert documentary

Justin Timberlake is in town for the Toronto International Film Festival for the world premiere of the film Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids. While the tickets are already pretty much sold out for all the screenings during TIFF, we were given confirmation last week that the film will actually be airing worldwide starting October 12 on Netflix.
