Microsoft kicks off 2016 Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto

Microsof's Worldwide Partner Conference kicked off in Toronto this week with 16,000 attendees from 144 countries and is expected to yield 145,000 onsite meetings. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella took to the stage to share how partners across various industries can leverage the Microsoft cloud to drive digital transformation. The Microsoft Worldiwde Partner conference, which sold out all tickets, runs until July 14, 2016.

Over 100 Artists will display brain sculptures in Toronto this summer

When you're visiting Toronto this summer you'll probably notice brain sculptures in and around the city. Beginning on June 3, 2016, The Brain Project will take over our most loved spaces in the city featuring 100 original works by internationally acclaimed artists, designers and celebrities. The customized brain sculptures will dot our cityscape all to raise awareness for brain health and research at Baycrest Health Sciences. 

Artists participating include Gary Taxali, who unveiled the first completed brain sculpture at the media event today, as well as Mr. Brainwash, Karim Rashid, Alec Monopoly, David Drebin, Dani Cooperman, Andre Monet and many more. Also announced are celebrities participants including Kim Kardashian West and daughter North West and Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy.

TomTom launches TomTom City, includes Toronto and Vancouver as traffic information sources

TomTom City – a new traffic portal that provides live traffic and travel information for consumers and traffic management experts. This new service showcases the extensive range of traffic information available on a city by city basis and will provide a platform to connect traffic authorities, businesses and citizens to jointly manage sustainable and efficient mobility.

TomTom City, which can be found at http://city.tomtom.com, is accessible from any internet enabled computer, tablet or smartphone and provides freely accessible content showing live traffic status and incidents and other driver-based information in cities. This will enable consumers to check their journey routes first and plan the best route. Furthermore by also being accessible to traffic management experts, traffic issues can now be dealt with even more quickly. The initial launch of 25 cities in 18 countries will expand to include more cities and products throughout the year.

Quantum Break freezes time inside a burger joint in Toronto 

The action-packed thriller game, Quantum Break (Xbox One and Windows 10) released this week to much excitement and to celebrate the launch, fan events were hosted in 11 Microsoft stores in the U.S. and Canada.

Here in Toronto, a curious store front opened at the busy street corner of Queen Street West and Spadina that is catching attention by those passing by. 

Xbox Canada created Quantum Burger shop at the Hero Burger location. A peek through the windows and you see chaos of flying tables, chairs as if disaster had just struck and everything is frozen in time. The buzz is building on social media and we've been told that it is open until Friday -- but I suspect they may last through the weekend.
