Twitter finally lets you add photos, GIFs, & videos in one tweet

Source: Twitter

If you've ever had trouble deciding if you'd post a video, GIF, or image to accompany your tweet, now you don't have to choose. Twitter's latest update will let you mix your visuals to get your thoughts across. You can share four pieces of media in one tweet. It works the same as with attaching media in the past. Compose your tweet, select the content you want to add, then send the tweet out. It's available on both Android and iOS versions of the app.

Twitter's Edit Tweet expected to come to Twitter Blue subscribers in Canada starting late Sept. 2022

Source: Twitter

Twitter has begun testing its most requested feature. The company announced that it started internally testing an Edit Tweet option. It plans to roll this out to Twitter Blue subscribers in Canada and three other markets (Australia, New Zealand, and the US) starting as early as late September 2022.

Twitter gives you up to 30 minutes to edit a tweet "a few times" after you've hit Tweet. The edited tweets will appear with an icon, timestamp, and label that clearly states the original tweet has been modified. When you tap the label, it'll show the tweet's edit history. As Twitter says in its blog post, this helps "protect the integrity of the conversation and create a publicly accessible record of what was said." While not all users will get the option to edit tweets, everyone will see edited tweets soon.

Twitter Blue gets a price increase to CA$6.49

Time to add the edit button to Twitter Blue?

If you're a Twitter Blue subscriber, you might not be happy to hear this news. The company plans to increase the fee for its subscription service from CA$3.49 to $6.49 starting in October. You'll already be paying the new rate if you're a new subscriber.

Twitter justifies the move in an email it sent subscribers a few days ago. "This change helps us continue to build some of the features you've been asking for, improve upon the current ones you already love, and sustain our mission of supporting journalism," the email said.

Twitter taps into its roots with Status feature test

Source: Twitter

The latest Twitter experiment allows users to assign one of several pre-written labels to tweets. In theory, it would seem to replace the emojis users typically add to tweets regarding topics they're talking about and saves them a few characters. Like a spool of thread emoji signifies "A thread" is coming, a warning sign emoji is a label for spoilers, and a mic is used for "AMAs."

According to a Twitter spokesperson, the feature is designed to give a bit more context. They said, "whether you are about to drop a hot Tweet thread, share your shower thoughts, or have a bad case of the Mondays, your Tweets can better convey what you are up to." The status labels are predetermined, so you can't make your own.
