CES 2013: Sony's new Windows 8 Ultrabooks

Sony Canada today updated its top-selling VAIO T Series Ultrabook line with a new Full HD, touch-enabled T Series 15, allowing consumers to experience Windows 8 in a clamshell form factor. The T Series incorporates Sony’s innovative digital imaging and audio technologies, and packs high performance and mobility into a stylishly slim magnesium and aluminum design for daily trips to the office or campus.

Video: Checking out the Sony VAIO Duo 11

A look at the Sony Vaio Duo 11 during a recent Intel event focusing on the latest trends in Windows 8 devices. Intel's Market Development Manager Joe Ellis discusses the benefits it the Sony Vaio Duo, which takes a tablet-first approach to the convertible Ultrabook segment. By allowing a full QWERTY keyboard  retract from underneath the 11-inch tablet, users can have best of both world input options on screen and on a dedicated keyboard. This is a sign of exciting things to come in the Windows 8 market.

SlideShow: A look at Lenovo's Twist and Yoga Windows 8 Ultrabooks

I just got the chance at an exclusive peek at two of the more innovative Windows 8 Ultrabooks coming from Lenovo Canada. The ThinkPad Twist offers the robust build and design of ThinkPads but with the ability to convert the Ultrabook into a 13-inch Windows 8 tablet.

The IdeaPad Yoga is geared towards consumers and can flip the screen 180 degrees to turn it into a tablet or to create a makeshift stand. Both Ultrabooks come with sealed in batteries, a variety of Ivy Bridge Core i5 or i7 processors as well as Gorilla Glass covered multi-touch displays. Pricing and availability has not yet been announced.Expect these in the market shortly after the official Windows 8 launch on October 26.
