OnePlus teases June 1st announcement of their "Two" flagship

At long last, OnePlus is finally shedding some light on their next sure-fire hit, the Two flagship. Oppo (makers of the OnePlus) has set the launch to Q3 of this year and will offer the same invite-only availability guidelines.

In true new media form, OnePlus took to Twitter to tease us at the aforementioned announcement is sooner than we think. Along with the not-so-subtle "it's time for change" verbiage, OnePlus announced that they are “always looking for ways to shake up the tech industry” and posted an image of what could be its forthcoming device.

While the details are sparse, OnePlus says that the official availability announcement will come on June 1st.

Cannibal! The musical is as funny as you think it is

Last week I had the chance to catch the premier of Toronto's newest slapstick show, Cannibal! The Musical. Truth be told, if I learned anything from his previous gem, The Book of Mormon, South Park creator Trey Parker has a knack for creating outlandish work.

Directed by Chris Bond (think Evil Dead the musical) and running until March 8th at the Panasonic Theater at Yonge and Bloor, the show tells the hilarious, and (mostly) true story of Alferd Packer, the only person ever convicted of cannibalism in America. It's off-colour and absolutely amazing, especially for those watching with an open-minded sense of humour. I mean a very open mind; my wife wasn't as into the show as I was, solely based on the language and humor.

One more thing: the musical introduced me to a new word that I can't seem to shake: Shpasoinkle. Its meaning? Who knows. It's funny and memorable; that's all that matters.

CES 2015: Audi and LG show-off smart watch collaboration

One of the highlighted keynotes today was from car maker Audi. During their hour long session they announced in-car partnerships with Android Wear manufacturers LG, Samsung and NVIDIA. Exciting, yes, but it wasn't the subtle Easter egg that caught a sharp journalists eye. No, something else had people talking -- the watch Ulrich Hackenberg had on during the presentation. Bearing a striking resemblence to the in-market LG G Watch R, the yet-to-be-named watch looked strikingly more refined with a stainless steel bezel and leather strap.

The Verge reached out to LG for comment, to which they confirmed that the watch was made specifically for Audi and runs a customized version of Android Wear.

Want.

CES 2015: The Mira fitness bangle is not coming to Canada

Following a similar concept to FitBit, Withings, Jawbone and other fitness-focused wearables, the Mira by Mira is an activity tracker that aims to stand out by making their bracelets female friendly, offering sizes like petite, small and medium in a variety of colors. Mira is showcasing their fitness bracelet on the floor here at CES.

In a conversation with MobileSyrup today, Mira has confirmed that they have no plans on launching their offering in the Canadian market. In fact, they have no plans on launching outside of the US at all. Interesting play, but maybe a smart one.
