Motoring: 2011 Nissan Rogue Crossover SUV unveiled

Nissan announced today that it will unveil the new, redesigned 2011 Nissan Rogue crossover SUV on Saturday, July 31st at the 23rd Annual International Z(R) Car Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. The popular Nissan Rogue gets an upgraded look inside and out - including exterior, interior, comfort and convenience, and audio and entertainment system enhancements.

Model names and options are also revised, keeping Rogue fresh and exciting for its active lifestyle buyers. The 2011 Rogue is now offered in three trim levels - S, SV and SL (SL available in AWD only). Rogue is scheduled to go on sale at Nissan dealers nationwide this September.

"For 2011, Rogue is building on its very popular values - exciting styling, excellent value and a fun-to-drive spirit," said Mark McDade, Director, Marketing, Nissan Canada Inc. "By adding a third model and some great new options this year, Rogue can now be customized to suit any driver's interests."

Among the many enhancements for the fourth year of Rogue production is a redesigned exterior featuring a new front fascia and grille, front chin spoiler, rear spoilers, new chrome side door guard molding trim accents, new front and rear tire deflectors and a new chrome license plate finisher. Also added for 2011 are available 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, new lower rolling resistance tires (available with the 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels) and a new under-body cover.

About the 2011 Nissan Rogue

The new 2011 Nissan Rogue offers a standard 170-horsepower 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine, Nissan's advanced Xtronic CVT(TM) (Continuously Variable Transmission), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Rogue S and Rogue SV are available with an intuitive All-Wheel Drive system, which is standard on the new Rogue SL.

Rogue is designed to satisfy the buyers' functional and emotional needs - including the versatility provided by a large 1,639 L/58 ft(3) of cargo space combined with a 60/40 split rear seat and available fold-down front passenger seat. Utility is enhanced by numerous storage and functionality features, including an oversized glove compartment and large centre console.

Rogue also offers a long list of standard safety features, including six standard air bags - front seat-mounted side impact supplemental air bags and roof-mounted curtain side impact supplemental air bags with rollover sensor for improved front and rear-seat outboard occupant head protection.

Bluetooth(R) Hands-free Phone System is standard on the 2011 Rogue, with other available technology features including Nissan Intelligent Key(TM), XM(R) Satellite Radio (XM(R) subscription required, sold separately) Nissan Navigation System, RearView Monitor and a Bose-developed audio system.

The Rogue SV model is designed to provide excellent value, with RearView Monitor, Bluetooth(R) Hands-free Phone System, and several other features previously available in the 2010 Rogue SL. Two available option packages are available the Premium Package, which includes new Mood Lighting among other new features, and the Tech Package, which includes the Nissan Navigation System and a 5-inch colour screen.

Nissan Rogue ranks high in the class of compact affordable SUVs!The car has a sporty feel about it,steering is great, and drive is smooth, best on highways! It's base price is good and affordable..The controls are nice and functional and of high utility! Also as there is no available optional third row seater, the Nissan Rogue is much more spacious than the other cars of its class, such as Toyota RAV4! Also the materials used for the interiors are really classy and the upholstery used for the interiors , cushioning of seats is just fabulous!
