Review: Bracketron Back-iT Portable iPad Case
By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla
Bracketron's Back-iT Portable iPad Case is a lightweight snap on case that protects the iPad 2's aluminum case while perfectly matching the colour and the texture of Apple's SmartCover which makes it a worthwhile accessory for iPad users.
The Back-iT Portable iPad case ($30.00) is one of the better polycarbonate iPad 2 cases we've seen. It is made with a soft-touch finish which is easier to grip than the native aluminum casing and it is also easy to clean. Our test unit was very easy to install into our iPad 2.
The case doesn't add much weight to the iPad but really feels like it can protect the entire back part and the sides. The best thing about the Bracketron case is that it works with the SmartCover and when you match colours, it looks and feels seamless.
The Back-iT is available in Green, Blue, Pink, Orange and Grey which are the colours of the cheaper polyurethane case but not the leather ones, which could be an issue for some users who want to pair their leather SmartCovers.
We like that Bracketron went the extra mile to match the tactile and visual cues laid out by Apple for their accessory and think that this is something users will appreciate. It is hard to think that the Bracketron Back-iT iPad Case wasn't made by Apple in the first place. That is, until you realize that if it was Apple branded it would probably cost around $10 more.
