Lenovo introduces new multimode devices: Yoga 2 Pro, ThinkPad Yoga, and Flex laptops and desktop

Whether you call them hybrid or multimode, as Lenovo dubs these devices, there are a few new models out from the Chinese brand for those who require different functions from a single device. There’s the Yoga successor, the Yoga 2 Pro; ThinkPad Yoga; Flex 14- and 15-inch laptops; and Flex 20 all-in-one.

The Yoga 2 Pro has a QHD+ super high resolution 13.3-inch 10-finger touchscreen display with 350-nit brightness, 3,200 x 1,800 resolution in 16:9 aspect ratio, and IPS 178° wide viewing angle. It’s as thin and light as ever at 15.5mm and 1.39kg and runs on 4th-gen Intel Core processors up to i7 ULT, Windows 8.1, and up to 512GB SSD.

While taking inspiration from Yoga’s flip and fold four mode design, the ThinkPad Yoga is still a business-oriented device with a 12.5-inch Corning Gorilla Glass HD IPS or FHD IPS 10-finger touchscreen display, up to Intel fourth-generation Core i7 processor, up to 1TB storage, and an all-day battery life. It also features a unique lift and lock system for tablet mode to keep the keyboard in place.

Aside from being thin and light laptops, the dual-mode Flex 14.1- and 15.6-inch laptops are capable of flipping 300° for stand mode, making interacting with the PC a more natural and comfortable experience. Images are projected vividly on HD or Full HD screens with 10-point multi-touch. Audio is courtesy of Dolby Advanced Audio v2. And the devices are powered by up to 4th-gen Intel Core i7 ULT processors, up to NVIDIA discrete GT 740M graphics, up to 1TB storage, and optional SSD or NAND flash.

The Flex 20 is the ideal everyday all-in-one with its powerful specs and ability to switch from stand to table mode. When in table mode, you will interact with Lenovo’s Aura interface that turns the AIO into a multi-game, multi-player device. Housed inside the 20.5mm thin aluminum shell is a 19.5-inch frameless HD IPS 90° tilt display, up to Intel Core i7 processors, and 500GB HD or SSHD storage. With built-in Wi-Fi, moving around the Flex 20 is a much easier experience.

The Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, ThinkPad Yoga, Flex 14/15 and Flex 20 AIO are priced at $1,099.99, $949, $629.99 and $899.99, respectively. The Yoga 2 Pro will be available beginning in October while the Flex products will be available late this month. The ThinkPad Yoga will be available beginning in November.
