Apple earns 'world's most valuable brand,' accolades for second year in a row
Apple is the world's most valuable brand according to Interbrand's "Best Global Brands" report for 2014. The iPhone and Mac maker beat out tech competitor Google as well as IBM, Samsung, GE and even Coca-Cola. Apple's innovation in various areas including its upcoming Apple Watch, Apple Pay mobile payments system and its new iPhone 6 line have contributed to an overall positive valuation for Apple.
2014 has been a huge year for Apple, it introduced various forks in its growing ecosystem of products to include Health, Home (HomeKit) and even Automotive (CarPlay) entertainment. Apple has also risen to become the 5th largest manufacturer of PCs and has successfully penetrated the large Chinese market with its devices. The latest version of its Mac OS (10.10) has brought innovation and remains the only pure (non-touch, non-hybrid) PC operating system in the mass market.
Apple is set to complete its year of launches next week during an event in Cupertino where it is expected to focus on the iPad and Mac lines while possibly introducing new devices or categories.
