Xbox One's marquee game Titanfall launches in downtown Toronto

Microsoft, Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment gave Toronto gamers a chance to try the new Titanfall XBox One game which is considered by many to be the most important title on Microsoft's new gaming and home theatre console. Guests lined up outside the Tatoo Rock Parlour which was set up like an arcade with various networked Xbox One consoles and HDTVs running the multiplayer-focused first person shooter. Respawn's game director Dave Fukuda was on hand during the event.

Titanfall is different from most first person shooters in that you can either play as a soldier but you can also pilot a Titan, which are large battle mechs that are slower than soldiers but which give a completely different perspective to the game.

I played a few rounds of Titanfall and found it to be an engaging multi-player shooter that was both familiar yet innovative. The futuristic and expansive environments, great sound effects, great character abilities, weapon selection and immersive battle scenarios will easily engage any level of player.

Microsoft hopes Titanfall with have a Halo-effect that will help push sales of the XBox One which is still catching up on the cheaper yet less widely available PlayStation 4 console.

Titanfall uses Microsoft's cloud services to offload non-player activity to servers and optimize the home computer for graphical performance. 

To celebrate the launch of Titanfall, Xbox, in partnership with Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts is releasing a Xbox One Titanfall Bundle will be available starting March 11 for $499.99* at select retailers. Fans can pre-order the bundle now online with major retailers, including MicrosoftStore.ca. Titanfall is also coming to Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows.
