Ringly's wearable tech that is on this girl's list

By Sonya Davidson

Finally. Yes, I mean it. FINALLY we are seeing more stylish offerings for women when it comes to wearable tech. Let's face it, while the smart watches are nice, they haven't quite appealed to the fashion forward female market. But developers and designers are racing to meet the screaming wants of women everywhere. We're starting to see interesting smart devices in forms of bracelets and pendants and even some developments into purses. All of the items are serving different needs for everyday life.

Ringly caught my attention recently. This New York based line is quickly gaining much attention not only because of it's tech factor but because the designs are simply beautiful. They've built a new line of smart jewelry that is more discreet placing fashion first starting with this ring.

Etsy and eBay alums teamed up to launch Ringly last year in a pre-sale campaign that quickly was noticed and snatched up. The minaturized technology combined with stylish ring settings keeps the wearer connected via the Ringly mobile app  (iOS and Android) and the ring pairs via Bluetooth LE. The ring basically pings you when you're getting a text, call, calendar alert, email and can notify you if you've left your phone somewhere. The ring notifications can also be customized to include social media channels like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tumbr, LinkedIn, Uber and more.  Notifications sent by vibration patterns and subtle light colours.

The ring itself is created with 18K gold plating and semi-precious stones including black onyx, rainbow moonstone, pink sapphire and emerald options.

"Our goal is to create products that are both stylisht and useful, that women will be proud to wear," says Ringly co-founder and CEO Christina Mercando, "We believe that the future of wearables is in building discreet technology that integrates seamlessly into your life and makes your day-to-day easier. The more I use my Ringly, the more it's like a personal assistant telling me what to do -- plus there's something so fun about having my jewellery talk to me!"

But it's not so easy to get your hands on one. The current orders are on a wait list won't ship until the summer. The demand is high and this want is real serious. I'm curious to see if it would benefit my life and how it all works. Crushing hard.
