Frontback to shut down service by September 15th

Selfie apps have proliferated throughout the years as people continue to take more and more of their self-portraits. But that doesn’t mean the industry is sustainable for all players. Selfie-plus-rear-photo service Frontback’s recent announcement is proof enough. The app is shutting down come September 15. The app was able to attract two million users but weren’t able to keep the engaged with their service. It’ll start winding down on August 15th and Android and iOS users have that time to download their photos. After the September deadline, the photos on their servers will be deleted. During the winding down period, the iOS app will still function as a camera app without the feeds or social interaction, while the Android version will be removed from the Play Store.
