Waze planned drives now available for iOS

Waze introduces Planned Drives for iOS, taking the stress out of planning an appointment or important trip, whether it’s today or in the week ahead. Now you’ll always know when to go! Enter the time and date you need to arrive and Waze will recommend the best time to leave. You’ll also receive a reminder closer to your event with an updated departure time based upon real-time road conditions. Just set it and forget it.

Planned Drives also makes it easier to manage your time and schedule more flexible to-do’s (like errands or road trips) to avoid traffic.

To use, open Waze and simply enter a destination (Menu>Enter address in search bar). On the Waze ETA panel, click the Waze Planned Drives icon (bottom left). The Waze Planned Drives screen opens and illustrates peak traffic hours along your future route, taking into account expected traffic conditions based on smart algorithms, aggregated traffic history and predictive analysis.

All Waze features are designed to work together to take the guesswork out of finding the optimal route for every destination. To use Waze like a pro:

• Grant Waze access to your Calendar and/or Facebook so appointments and Facebook Events automatically become Planned Drives

• Enable reminder capabilities in your phone’s settings. Suggested departure times and ETAs may change closer to your drive time as real-time traffic is added in

• Once in the car, use Waze to send your ETA to friends and family, alerting that you’re on the way and taking the guesswork out of your arrival time

• Add a stop to your route within Waze for anything you’ve forgotten, from coffee to gas

While Planned Drives launches today on iOS, it will be coming to Android shortly.
