Ladies Learning Code is now Canada Learning Code

Ladies Learning Code -- a national not-for-profit offering beginner-friendly tech education -- is proud to announce today that today it has officially rebranded to Canada Learning Code, a change that represents the organization's expanding scope and vision.

One year ago, the organization first announced the vision of Canada Learning Code and has spent the last year refining its vision, mission and theory of change while simultaneously developing a beautiful new 5,300 sq ft headquarters and community space in heart of Toronto.

“At Canada Learning Code, we believe that digital skills are tools of empowerment. Our goal is to ensure that all Canadians – particularly women, girls, people with disabilities, Indigenous youth and newcomers – who have been historically underrepresented in the sector are given equal opportunity to build our future”, says CEO Melissa Sariffodeen.

“We envision a future Canada in which all people have the knowledge and confidence to harness the power of technology for personal or professional fulfilment. It’s with great pride and excitement to share today, as part of our commitment to this vision, that we are officially evolving from Ladies Learning Code to Canada Learning Code.”

Ladies Learning Code was founded by four women over six years ago. What began as a sold out technology workshop for women in Toronto quickly blossomed into 30+ chapter communities across Canada, 80,000+ learners, and 5 incredible programs including Ladies, Girls, Kids, Teens and Teachers Learning Code.

The organization will be hosting an official office opening and ribbon cutting tonight at their new space.
