Here’s your first look at Henry Cavill as Geralt from Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’
While people are speculating whether Henry Cavill will be returning to the DC movie universe as Superman, the actor has lined up his next project: starring in Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher. The streaming service gave us a first look of Cavill as a brooding monster hunter named Geralt. The series is going to be based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels and is being adapted by writer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. Filming will start this month in Hungary. Cavill will be joined by Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, and many more.
The series, which is expected to come out on the service next year, is described as “an epic tale of fate and family.” It follows Geralt of Rivia, who’s being described as a “solitary monster hunter.” He’s said to be struggling to find his place among people but “when destiny hurtles him towards a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.”
