Microsoft Windows 10 Pro for Workstations will add an Ultimate Performance mode

For power users using very specific Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, Microsoft is developing a new mode that’ll make sure you get the most out of your machine. The company is calling it Ultimate Performance and is planning to include the new mode in the upcoming Windows 10 update set to arrive in March or April. Ultimate Performance will have special power management features for these high-end workstations. If you’re thinking your gaming rig could have this, unfortunately, it is as we mentioned for Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, which is primarily built for server grade PC hardware and power users.

“This new policy builds on the current High-Performance policy, and it goes a step further to eliminate micro-latencies associated with fine grained power management techniques,” explains Windows Insider chief Dona Sarkar. “As the power scheme is geared towards reducing micro-latencies it may directly impact hardware; and consume more power than the default balanced plan.”
