Amazon Canada introduces new eGift Card delivery using text and popular messaging apps

Sending eGift Cards will be easier than ever accroding to Amazon Canada, with the launch of text message delivery.  Behind the U.S., Canada is only the second country in the world to receive the new eGift Card delivery options via text! 

Instead of sending gift cards through traditional methods (mail and email), Amazon Canada has now enabled customers to send them straight to the recipients’ preferred form of messaging, such as text. Now customers will never miss a birthday or a thank you. It’s also fun and easy to send a surprise gift since you can customize the eGift Card from your mobile device by uploading your own images.

Text Message Delivery:

• Send an unexpected gift to friends and family right to their mobile phone by choosing “Text Message” as the delivery method on the Amazon Gift Card purchase page (www.amazon.ca/giftcards).
• Choose an amount, enter the recipient’s mobile number and write a personal note to accompany the gift card.
• Recipients will receive a text message with a link to their gift card, which can be redeemed instantly on Amazon.

Messaging App Delivery - Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, etc.

• Delight your favorite social maven by sending an Amazon eGift Card directly to their messaging app by visiting the Amazon Gift Card purchase page (www.amazon.ca/giftcards).
• Choosing ‘Share via messaging’ as your delivery type.
• After purchase, simply select their favorite messaging app and send the gift card directly to the recipient from the Amazon app.
• Recipients will receive a clickable image of the gift card in their message to view and redeem.
