Suyee Wireless Powerbank 10,000 mAh charger review

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Suyee may not be as familiar as Mophie or Anker in terms of external battery chargers but I am glad I took a chance on their wireless powerbank 10,000 mAh charger on Amazon.ca.

What attracted me to the Suyee Wireless Powerbank was the slim shape and size, the wireless Qi charging functionality and the ability to charge up to three devices simultaneously even while it is being charged itself.

As I prepared for a month-long trip with multiple smartphones, Kindle ereader, my son's iPad and other gadgets, I decided that the Suyee Wireless Powerbank was a good buy at $29.99. This was a large-ish capacity 10,000 mAh battery that could replenish a smartphone's charge multiple times during the day.

I have no shortage of external chargers, some are high capacity and with two or more USB ports. What sets the Suyee Wireless Powerbank apart is that it also offers wireless charging. This means that if you're in a plane and want to listen to music on your iPhone 8 or iPhone X, you can charge it without having to disengage the single lightning port (the only physical I/O since the headphone jack was deleted).

Granted, keeping your iPhone squarely positioned on the top of the Suyee Powerbank can be challenging, being able to wirelessly charge these newer smartphones by simply setting them on top of this charger is just great.

I also find it convenient to set up the Suyee Wireless Powerbank as a charging station. I can plug it in to charge it and use it as a pass through for two devices connected to the USB ports, while resting my iPhone X on the the charging pad.

Even if power goes out for some reason, I can still simultaneously charge multiple devices.

The Suyee Wireless Powerbank is affordable but the build does not feel cheap.

It is made out of plastic, has bright indicator lights giving information on whether it is charging and how much battery is left.

It has one switch to turn wireless charging on and it is a bit thicker than a smartphone. It easily slides into your bag or even back pocket and seems durable enough for general use.

The Suyee Wireless Powerbank is a pleasant surprise. A functional and versatile charger that costs half of what other devices with the same capacity go for.

The Qi charging functionality is great even if keeping an iPhone from vibrating off the charging surface is somewhat challenging. It is my go-to charger and a mainstay in my backpack and travel bag.
