While Netflix Canada is increasing its prices, Apple TV+ is set to give subscribers more free months to use the service. With the free one-year subscription offer given to those who bought new Apple devices ending next month, Apple offers up to extra three months to these users. The amount of spare time you get depends on when you signed up for the service.
Those who got the free trial before January 31, 2020, will get their subscriptions extended until February 2021. So, if you signed up in November, you get three additional months free.
Subscribers who paid for yearly subscriptions without a device purchase during the same period will also get free months through February 2021. Monthly subscriptions made before November 1, 2020, will also get the credit per month for November 2020 to January 2021.
You don't need to do anything to get the credit. Apple will email you about the corresponding extension/credit.
As for the new device program, the one-year free trial remains.
Apple claims it's extending the free trial to help its subscribers cope with COVID-related restrictions. But as TechCrunch points out, it could also help the company maintain its subscriber number for the fourth quarter of what's considered a tough economic year.
