'Worms Armageddon' gets update 21 years after release

Most games get a couple of years of support from developers. Not many can say that they get support over 20 years after the game came out. So, fans of 1999's Worms Armageddon are in for a treat. The game's developer Team17 quietly released a significant update for Worms, which comes with 370 fixes, 45 changes, and 61 new features. The surprise update arrives on the 25th anniversary of the original Worms game.

It now has RubberWorm integration, a popular mod that players can install to change its physics. Seventy new settings can change how the match plays out. The game's engine was tweaked for smoother animations. And it now supports windowed mode, too. The clincher is it still works with Windows 95 and other old operating systems. So, if the nostalgia has hit you, now's the best time to play Worms Armageddon.
