Samsung introduces a new SATA solution that can work for general PC users and IT professionals. The 870 EVO is an all-around storage solution that promises "best-in-class performance and reliability." It uses Samsung's latest V-NAND and controller to reach maximum SATA sequential read and write speeds of 560 and 530MB/s, respectively. It vows to maintain peak performance levels with its large variable SLC buffer and the drive's Intelligent TurboWrite tech.

Compared to the previous 860 models, the 870 EVO has an improvement of nearly 38% in random read speed, which should give you a better experience when it comes to multitasking, web browsing, and even booting up the PC. It also has a 30% sustained performance improvement over the 860 EVO. Since Samsung designs all SSD components in-house, it guarantees that all parts work cohesively.

Samsung boasts class-leading terabytes written rated at 2,400TB and 5-year limited warranty for the 4TB model. It should have a broad compatibility with many computing devices, as long as they have a 2.5-inch SATA interface connection. And it has a power-saving sleep mode with devices that support Window's Modern Standby function.

The Samsung 870 EVO costs $49.99 for the 250GB model, $89.99 for the 500GB model, $169.99 for the 1TB model, $324.99 for the 2TB model, and $624.99 for the 4TB model.
