Android 12 will bring privacy toggles to block camera, microphone with a single tap

Source: 9to5Google

With the rollout of Android 12's first Developer Preview, we're getting a glimpse at upcoming features for Google's newest mobile operating system update. One of the privacy enhancements coming to Android will be a pair of toggles that allows you to disable microphone and camera access to all apps.

You can think of these as master switches for both the camera and microphone in your smartphone. In the preview, these toggles show up in the Quick Settings menu with the icons "Block Camera" and "Mute Microphone." 9to5Google is having some trouble using the feature, which we can probably attribute to bugs in the Developer Preview. But, at least, we know this feature is something Google is working on now.
