Athlete Tech Group, BlackMINT, RBC Future Launch debut tech mentorship program for Black Canadian youth

Athlete Tech Group (ATG), together with BlackMint and RBC Future Launch, has just introduced a new technology mentorship program for Canadian Black youth. Rising Star will kick off this summer, offering 30 Canadian high school students a chance to join the nine-month mentorship program. The initiative focuses on technological literacy and skill development.

Rising Star's goal is to offer Black students the opportunity to learn about data science, video game design, cloud computing, and many more to help prepare them for future careers. Industry experts from BlackMINT and professional athletes from ATG will serve as mentors for the program. They will lead and support the students through modules, workshops, and original content, checking in on their progress weekly.

"We need to get more Black youth engaged and excited about Canada's bustling technology sector," said Randy Osei, Founder and CEO, Athlete Tech Group. "Black Canadians continue to be grossly underrepresented in the tech industry. Rising Star will help to open doors and create a sustainable bridge between Black Canadians and 'Silicon Valley of the North' as we look to break barriers to employment and drive social participation."

Students can apply now for the Rising Star program at this link.
