Epilogue launches Social Media Will to help you plan what to do with your online accounts when you pass
Do you know what happens to your social media accounts after you pass away? If you don't, then you aren't alone. A survey conducted by online estate planning solution Epilogue found that over 83% of its Canadian respondents didn't know what happens to their accounts after their death. Plus, only 8.2% said they used the legacy planning tools offered by companies like Facebook and Google.
Epilogue wants to change these figures by launching its new free Social Media Will service to help people document their final wishes for their social media accounts and online presence. Epilogue worked with Sharon Hartung, one of the country's foremost experts in estate planning for digital assets.
The Social Media Will service will ask you a series of questions to help document your wishes and facilitate the use of each platform's pre-planning tools. Epilogue will then automatically generate a custom Social Media Will you can share with your loved ones. This service is free and available to everyone, no matter where you live. You can learn more about this new feature at this link.
