Twitter launches Tip Jar

Twitter recently introduced a new way for its users to earn from their time on the platform. The company has started rolling out Tip Jar initially to creators, journalists, nonprofits, and experts using Twitter in English on iOS and Android. A Tip Jar icon will appear next to the Follow button for those who have the feature enabled.

When you tap the icon, you'll see the payment services or platforms available. The services supported include Bandcamp, Patreon, Paypal, Veno, and Cash App. Features and availability vary depending on the region. Twitter wrote in its blog post that it would take no cut from the Tip Jar. For Android users, you can also send tips within Spaces.

Wired released a story highlighting some problems using PayPal for the Tip Jar, which might expose some personal info. You can read more about that here.
