Nikon introduces new Z fc mirrorless camera

Nikon's newest mirrorless camera fuses together the latest tech and a distinctly retro look. The Nikon Z fc's design is inspired by the Nikon FM2 film SLR with analog tactile dials, leather-tone finish, and engraved lettering that reminds us of classic film cameras.

Even with that retro shell, it has a Vari-Angle touchscreen LCD that flips out to face you and automatically adjusts depending on your needs. The Z fc has a 20.9-megapixel CMOS sensor paired with the EXPEED 6 engine. It has a 209-point hybrid AF system that recognizes approximately 87% of the frame horizontally and 85% vertically. It also has both Rapid Eye-Detection AF and Eye Detection in the wide-area AF (L) mode.

This camera also gets 4K UHD video recording and slow-motion recording at 1080p/120p on 4x/5x in-camera slow-motion modes. It can also do 4K time-lapse movies. It supports Nikon's Z Mount lenses, which it claims is the widest lens mount of any comparable camera system.

You can easily share photos and videos wirelessly, and when connected via USB-C, the camera gets power that lets you operate it continuously.

Aside from the retro black and silver, the Nikon Z fc will be available in six additional colour options to vibe with any personal style: white, coral pink, mint green, sand beige, amber brown, and natural gray.

The Nikon Z fc will be available in classically styled black and silver starting late July 2021 in Canada in various kit configurations. The body-only will be available for a manufacturer-suggested retail price (MSRP) of CAD 1,299.95 or paired with the silver NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens for CAD 1,499.95 MSRP. The silver NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens will be available separately starting in late July for CAD 399.95 MSRP.

The NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8 (SE) special edition lens will be available in a kit with the Z fc camera for CAD 1,599.95 starting in late July and sold separately starting in fall 2021 for CAD 399.95 MSRP.

The six additional colour options will be available in limited supply as a kit with the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR (SL) for CAD 1,629.95 MSRP and will be sold exclusively through www.nikon.ca.
