Apple's next Mac Pro expected to ship with M2 Ultra, M2 Extreme chips
As Apple brought its new M2 chips to its latest iPad Pro, we're looking at what's coming next for the Mac Pro, which will be the last Mac model to abandon Intel processors for Apple Silicon. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports in his newsletter that the next Mac Pro coming out in 2023 is expected to get M2 Ultra and M2 Extreme chips.
The Ultra will reportedly get 24 CPU cores and 76 GPU cores, while the Extreme variant gets 48 CPU cores and 152 GPU cores, with a maximum of 256GB of unified memory. In comparison, the base M2 chips available in the latest MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro have an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU.
