Youth Science Canada to host Canada-Wide Science Fair on May 16-20
2022 marks the 60th anniversary of Youth Science Canada's (YSC) flagship event, the Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF). And this year, the event will be hosted virtually by the University of New Brunswick from May 16 to 20. CWSF is the country's biggest youth science, technology, engineering, and mathematics event.
As students compete at regional fairs leading up to this big event, YSC encourages the participants to join the purpleSTEMwave. It's a campaign unified with YSC's purpose to encourage Canada's youth to investigate scientific questions and develop innovative solutions for existing and future issues. Students earn a spot as a CWSF finalist by competing at their regional fairs.
Teachers across the country can register their class at this link for a virtual CWSF field trip, complete with scavenger hunts, escape rooms, and other activities with chances to win daily prizes. The Virtual CWSF 2022 is accessible through any web browser, and registration is free. Those who register will receive free student and teacher resources to make the most out of the experience.
