2022 marks the 60th anniversary of Youth Science Canada's (YSC) flagship event, the Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF). And this year, the event will be hosted virtually by the University of New Brunswick from May 16 to 20. CWSF is the country's biggest youth science, technology, engineering, and mathematics event.

As students compete at regional fairs leading up to this big event, YSC encourages the participants to join the purpleSTEMwave. It's a campaign unified with YSC's purpose to encourage Canada's youth to investigate scientific questions and develop innovative solutions for existing and future issues. Students earn a spot as a CWSF finalist by competing at their regional fairs.
