Plastic version of Microsoft Surface Duo leaked on eBay

Source: eBay

Microsoft was reportedly working on a more affordable plastic version of the Surface Duo 2. A leaked image was spotted on a now-deleted eBay listing. Microsoft mysteriously cancelled the Surface Duo 2 in 2021 after it was initially supposed to come out later this year.

As the leaked image shows, the Surface Duo 2's plastic version has a more rounded design with a plastic matte finish and a slightly smaller camera bump. These changes were made so this can be marketed as a lower-cost model. Codenamed Cronos, it was supposed to get a more midrange Qualcomm chip, a dual camera array on the rear instead of a triple one, and a non-curved display.

It was speculated to be called the Surface Duo Go. Since it won't be launched, Microsoft is instead working on bringing Android 12L to the current Surface Duo 2. We won't expect a new Surface Duo flagship until later in 2023.
