Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series: What’s new and what’s back
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch6 series brings back the physical rotating bezel on the Classic model, while the regular model has a touch-sensitive rim. Both watches have larger screens, bigger batteries and the same sensors as the Galaxy Watch5 series. They run on WearOS 4 with Samsung’s One UI 5 Watch, which offers better sleep tracking, heart rate zones, and SOS features.
The Galaxy Watch6 Classic has a stainless steel body and a bezel that you can turn to navigate the menus and settings. The bezel was missing on the Galaxy Watch5, but fans loved it on the Galaxy Watch4 Classic. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch6 has an aluminum body and a touch-sensitive rim that mimics the bezel’s function. Both watches have two sizes: 40mm and 44mm for the Watch 6 and 43mm and 47mm for the Classic.
The screens on both watches are brighter than the previous models, with a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits. They also have a new Exynos W930 processor that should make them faster and smoother. The battery life is rated at 40 hours with the always-on display off and 30 hours with it on.
The watches have the same sensors as the Galaxy Watch 5 series, which measure heart rate, skin temperature, and body composition. They also have a new feature that lets you use them as a remote shutter for the camera app on the Galaxy Z Fold5 or Z Flip5 phones.
