'Final Fantasy XIV' is coming to Xbox (finally)
Final Fantasy XIV, the critically acclaimed MMORPG, is finally making its way to Xbox. The announcement was made during the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest keynote, where Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer joined game director Naoki Yoshida on stage. Spencer said, “We want to bring the Xbox community and your warriors of light together, in a way that is safe, secure, engaging, and, above all, fun.”
The MMORPG has been exclusive to PC and PlayStation since its launch in 2013. Yoshida revealed that one of the most frequent requests from fans was to bring the game to the Xbox platform.
Xbox players can look forward to enjoying the game on the Series S / X with faster loading times and 4K resolution for the Series X. The game’s latest expansion will also be available on Xbox. Yoshida announced that the Xbox version will launch in the spring 2024 with an open beta that will coincide with the release of patch 6.5. He also confirmed that progress from the open beta will carry over to the full game and encouraged Xbox players to sign up for the beta.
