Apple’s 'Monarch: Legacy of Monsters' brings Godzilla to TV
Apple is expanding its TV offerings with a new show based on Legendary’s Monsterverse, the cinematic universe that features Godzilla, King Kong and other giant creatures. The show is called Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, and it explores the history and secrets of the organization that tracks these beasts.
The show spans three generations and follows a pair of siblings who discover their family’s ties to Monarch. They also encounter Army officer Lee Shaw, who is played by Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt Russell in different time periods. It's partially set in the aftermath of a devastating battle between Godzilla and the Titans that ravaged San Francisco, but the story spans three generations.
The first trailer for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters gives us a glimpse of the iconic monster, the cast, and the ruined city. It promises to deliver the same spectacle and thrills that fans have enjoyed from the movies. The 10-episode show will debut on Apple TV+ on November 17, with new episodes dropping weekly until January 12.
