Threads gets quoting and notifications features from Meta

One of the Threads features missing at launch was the ability to quote other people’s posts, similar to a retweet on X/Twitter. Finally, you can quote posts by clicking on the repost icon at the bottom of a post and choosing the “Quote” option. It's available on desktop now. This allows you to add your own commentary to someone else’s thread.

Another new feature is the ability to follow the responses for a specific thread on mobile by turning on notifications for 24 hours. Users can do this by tapping on the bell icon at the top-right corner of a post. This way, they can stay updated on the conversation without having to check the app constantly.

These features are part of Meta’s efforts to improve Threads, which launched with a lot of missing functionalities. Meta released Threads at a time when X users were unhappy with the company’s changes that made the service less user-friendly for non-paying members. By adding more features to Threads, Meta hopes to attract and retain users who have lost interest in its social network.
