Longo’s and Call2Recycle team up to offer battery recycling at GTA stores

Longo's and Call2Recycle

Longo’s and Call2Recycle have joined forces to make battery recycling easier and more convenient for their guests. You can now drop off your used batteries at any of the 37 Longo's stores across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), becoming the first grocery chain in Ontario to offer this service.

This initiative is part of Longo’s commitment to reducing waste and supporting a circular economy, where valuable materials like metal alloys are recovered from old batteries and used to make new products like silverware, bikes and golf clubs. Longo’s and Call2Recycle hope to encourage Ontarians to adopt environmentally friendly habits by making battery recycling part of their regular shopping routine.

Call2Recycle has over 2,600 battery collection sites in Ontario, with over 98% of Ontarians located within 15km of one. With thousands of visitors each year, Longo’s stores will help increase accessibility and recycling volumes even further in southern Ontario.
