How the instax Pal lets you capture and print your photos in minutes

Fujifilm’s latest instax camera, the instax Pal, is a tiny 4.9-megapixel digital camera that lets you print your photos with the included instax Mini Link 2 printer. You can also edit your photos with the Pal app, which connects to the camera and the printer via Bluetooth. The insax Pal is designed for teens who want to capture and share life’s spontaneous moments.

The camera has a wide-angle lens, a flash, and a simple viewfinder. You can take photos by pressing the shutter button on the back or by using the app as a remote control. The camera also supports interval shooting, with options for 3, 6, 11, or 21 continuous images at three-second intervals. 

The instax Pal has a detachable ring that can be used as a finger strap, a stand, or a tripod mount. It has a speaker, a USB-C port, a microSD card slot, and an internal memory that can hold 50 images.

The Pal app lets you see what the camera sees, adjust the exposure, and choose between two quality modes: Rich (vivid and detailed) and Natural. You can also add effects like sepia, cool, vivid, and soft, as well as brightness, contrast, rotate, crop, text, stickers, emojis, and more. 

You can send your photos to friends via the Pal app. Or You can print your photos using instax Mini film. But you'll need another Fujifilm app for this. (This will allow you to print out your other smartphone photos, too.)

The instax Pal bundle will be available in late October for US$200 (around CA$270). It comes with a new Soft Lavender Instax film that costs US$15.75 (~CA$22) for a 10-pack. The instax Pal is more expensive than other instax Mini models that only print physical photos. But it offers more versatility and creativity with digital photos, and you get a smartphone printer bundled, too.
