Nothing expands earbud lineup with two new models: Ear and Ear (a)
Nothing unveils two new true wireless earbud options, catering to both budget-conscious users and audiophiles.
Nothing Ear: The feature-packed flagship
Priced at CA$199, the Nothing Ear is the successor to the Ear (2) and boasts several upgrades. It features refined 11mm dynamic drivers with ceramic diaphragms, promising richer, crisper audio. Two additional vents enhance airflow for a clearer soundscape.
High-fidelity enthusiasts will appreciate support for LHDC 5.0 and LDAC codecs for high-bitrate streaming. The improved Smart ANC algorithm automatically detects and adjusts for noise leakage, ensuring optimal noise cancellation.
Advanced audio customization comes courtesy of the Nothing X companion app's built-in Equalizer, allowing you to personalize your listening experience and even share custom profiles with friends.
And, for seamless connectivity, Nothing Ear utilizes Bluetooth 5.3 with dual device pairing, Google Fast Pair, and Microsoft Swift Pair. Crystal-clear calls are facilitated by new talk microphones with Clear Voice Technology.
Battery life reaches 8.5 hours for the earbuds themselves (5.2 hours with ANC) and extends to 40.5 hours with the charging case. Both wired charging via USB-C and wireless charging up to 2.5W on Qi chargers are supported.
The Nothing Ear comes in classic black and white colors. Pre-orders are available now, with official sales starting on April 22.
Nothing Ear (a): Affordable option with key features
The CA$149 Nothing Ear (a) offers a more budget-friendly option without sacrificing core functionalities. It retains most of the flagship's features, including 11mm dynamic drivers, ANC, and LDAC support.
The design boasts a unique rectangular case and comes in a vibrant yellow alongside the standard black and white options. Minor trade-offs include the absence of custom EQs and the ceramic diaphragm. Battery life is slightly better at 9.5 hours without ANC (5.5 hours with ANC) and 42.5 hours with the case. Wired charging via USB-C is the only option here.
Both Nothing earbuds integrate ChatGPT
As we've written, both the Nothing Ear and Ear (a) feature innovative ChatGPT integration. Users can summon the AI assistant with a simple pinch gesture, opening up new possibilities for voice interaction and control.
