Sonos Era 100 Pro & new Zones feature now available

Photo: Sonos

Sonos announced the availability of its first speaker designed specifically for professional installers: the Era 100 Pro. This Ethernet-powered speaker is sold in pairs through authorized Sonos installation partners. Pricing is set by these partners, with one Toronto installer estimating a price of $409 each, or $499 CAD with a wall mount. Buyers should note the Era 100 Pro requires a powered Ethernet connection because it won't work with typical wired home networks.

Alongside the new speaker, Sonos has introduced Zones in its app. This new feature allows for the creation of semi-permanent speaker collections of up to 16 compatible devices, simplifying control in commercial settings. Zones offer synchronized content and volume, with individual speaker trim and EQ adjustments.

Bose CEO Lila Snyder told CNBC in an interview it isn't ruling out the possibility of introducing more premium McIntosh-branded headphones and accessories. We do think there’s a real opportunity around wearables in the luxury and high-performance space as well, which is something that we would expect you to see from us down the road,Synder said.

We're seeing more and more tumbler-sized projectors come out of the market. And the latest one takes a slightly different take than the other cylindrical projectors. The JMGO Picoflix is used horizontally and has a built-in rotating gimbal to make it easier to aim at a screen or blank wall.

It features a small foot on one end to prevent it from rolling away. This projector measures around 9.5 inches long and around 3.14 inches in diameter, making it narrower than a 40-ounce Stanley cup.
