Microsoft bids farewell to Paint 3D

Microsoft is discontinuing Paint 3D, the enhanced version of the classic Paint app, later this year. Originally introduced with Windows 10 as a part of Microsoft's focus on creators, Paint 3D is set to be removed from the Microsoft Store on November 4, 2024.

To replace Paint 3D, Microsoft is now heavily investing in the original Paint app within Windows 11. The updated Paint app incorporates popular features from Photoshop and even leverages AI for enhanced capabilities.

This marks the latest in a series of discontinued Windows features and apps. Last year, Microsoft also ended support for Windows Mixed Reality and removed Microsoft Teams integration from Windows 11. Additionally, the company plans to discontinue Android app support for Windows 11 next year.
