Google officially released the Pixel 9a, the latest addition to its budget-friendly A-series lineup. The phone boasts a fresh design, enhanced camera features, and advanced AI capabilities powered by Gemini Nano.

The Pixel 9a arrives in four distinct colours: Obsidian, Porcelain, Peony, and the new Iris, which replaces Wintergreen from the Pixel 9 series. The device features a 6.3-inch display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.

Camera upgrades include a 48-megapixel main sensor and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, with the introduction of macro focus for the first time in an A-series Pixel. A notable design change is the revamped camera bar, now a flat, corner-positioned module, offering a "sleek, flat profile."

Google highlights the Pixel 9a's impressive battery life, claiming over 30 hours of usage and up to 100 hours with Extreme Battery Saver, making it the Pixel with the longest battery life to date.

A key feature is the integration of Gemini Nano, Google's on-device AI model, making the Pixel 9a the only smartphone in its price range to offer this capability. Gemini enhances various Google apps, including Maps, Calendar, and YouTube, for seamless multitasking.

The Pixel 9a is priced at $679 in Canada, matching last year's Pixel 8a, and coming soon.
