The Apple iPhone 17 is coming later this year. And this new series will reportedly bring with it the thinnest iPhone ever. The phone is expected to be called the iPhone 17 Air, which aligns it with existing Air products in Apple's arsenal (like the iPad Air and MacBook Air).

It might be easier to search for the next-generation Apple AirTag. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports in his Power On newsletter that Apple is working on an AirTag featuring a new ultrawide-band chip similar to the iPhone 15. This processor could triple the range of the rumoured AirTag compared to the current AirTag, which can locate items with Precision Finding from around 10 to 30 meters away.

Apple's ambitious chip strategy continues to unfold, with two significant shifts poised to reshape its product landscape. One is the long-anticipated transition to Apple-designed cellular modems. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports in his Power On newsletter that this project is nearing fruition. These chips, set to debut in the 2024 iPhone SE and a slimmer iPhone model, will supposedly gradually replace Qualcomm components across the iPhone, iPad, and other Apple devices by early 2027.

And while it's moved from batteries to a rechargeable system and from Lighting to a USB-C port, it hasn't changed as drastically since it came out. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports in his Power On newsletter that Apple is prototyping versions of the mouse aimed at addressing the needs of the "modern era." And yes, that includes the often-complained charging port location.
However, we might have to wait between 12 and 18 months. Gurman reports it would take months or years of hardware engineering, software development, and operations work after the designers finalize its look.
