Barnes & Noble releases teaser video of Galaxy Tab 4 Nook

We all know Samsung and Barnes & Noble are hosting an event for their partnership this coming August 20. But if you’d like to see the new device they collaborated on, Barnes & Noble has released a teaser clip of the Galaxy Tab 4 Nook. Just to refresh your memories, the device has a 7-inch 1280x800 resolution display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. It also has a 3-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front shooter.

Samsung finally debuts metal-clad Galaxy Alpha

Samsung is stepping away from its plastic-clad devices to debut the new metal-framed Galaxy Alpha. It features a more squared-off look and is made with premium materials. This new device has a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display and runs on an octa-core Exynos CPU (quad 1.8GHz and quad 1.3GHz), 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (no external storage though), Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and a 12-megapixel rear camera as well as a 2.1MP front-facing shooter. It also has the latest TouchWiz UI and Samsung apps and features available on the Galaxy S5. This handset is said to be available starting September and will come in black, white, blue, silver, and gold.

Samsung and Barnes & Noble to co-host an event in New York on August 20

Samsung and Barnes & Noble previously entered into a partnership to sell a co-branded Galaxy Tab 4 Nook. Now, the two companies want to talk more about this at an upcoming event in New York City that will be held on August 20. The Galaxy Tab 4 Nook will be up on display and it is reported they will also talk about announcements related to their partnership. We’re not sure what kind of news Samsung and Barnes & Noble have for us but we will keep you posted on updates.

Samsung Galaxy S4 reportedly caught fire and melted while owner slept

Another alarming incident involving a smartphone battery igniting and catching fire has surfaced. A Samsung Galaxy S4 reportedly caught fire and melted completely while its owner, Texas teen Ariel Tolfree, slept. Source of the fire is likely being attributed to the a faulty battery. Samsung has responded by requesting to examine the charred remains of the Tolfree's phone, which they will replace together with the ruined beddings that the incendiary phone damaged. This is the latest in a series of fire-related incidents involving the Galaxy S4. A UK user found her smartphone sizzling as it was plugged in for the night and a Hong Kong resident claims ina CNet report that his Galaxy S4 exploded and caught fire in his hands. Hopefully whatever is causing these freak accidents can be sorted out and quickly.
