Motivate yourself to walk more with Breeze

It’s time to put the iPhone 5s’s movement tracker to use with Runkeeper’s Breeze app. This pedometer app tracks your daily and even weekly steps, lets you set daily goals, and provides you with real-time status updates. If you want a more automated approach to setting goals, Breeze has a built-in coach of sorts to help you reach your walking goals.

Moves iOS app gets new update to monitor about 60 different activities

Moves activity tracker just updated its iOS app to track a wider range of activities, including gym training and rollerblading. It used to just track activities such as running, walking, cycling, or being insides a car, so the amount of data on your fitness activity was pretty limited. Now, you can enter other activity types and track them on a single app. There is no word on when the Android update will come out but expect it to get the update soon.

Connect with aging parents through Lively

Lively: Creating new avenues of connection between older adults and their families. from Lively Inc. on Vimeo.

If you live apart from your aging mom and dad but want to keep track of their activities, then Lively will help you do just that. The sensor-based device is designed to be placed on objects around your parent’s home (such as fridge, front door, etc.) so you can check on their daily activities without taking away their independence. The sensors are designed transmit activity messages daily to its main hub and you will receive activity reports regularly in your email, through a smartphone app, or through the company’s website.
